THE HABIT CYCLE ;HOW TO BREAK AND CULTIVATE NEW HABITS

IF YOU SOW AN THOUGHT YOU REAP ACTION ,IF YOU SOW AN ACTION YOU REAP HABIT ,IF YOU SOW AN HABIT YOU REAP CHARACTER ,IF YOU SOW AN CHARACTER YOU REAP DESTINY.
What we repeatedly do consciously or unconsciously which give us the sense of pleasure in doing that is called HABIT .
Habits are activities which gave us the sense of pleasure to either our body or either our mind ,there are some habits which develops the beautiful character of person like reading , exploring while there are also some habits which destroys the wonderful empire may already existed ...like drugging, alcoholism etc.
So whatever the thought and idea there maybe is you should develop an ritual ,a habit of that particular action to get the required results ...and to know what your habits are you need to identify your PARADIGM.

Habit Loop :

Now the habits are there because of the functioning of basal ganglia or we can say the information stored in subconscious mind . Habits work on the cycle of CUE, ROUTINE,REWARD.
For example; As you walk up in the morning the first thing you do is just walk to the washroom and your hands automatically reach to the toothbrush ,paste ...here the cue is the mirror, the basin ,your night clothes, everything around in the bathroom is same at that time everyday that's the cue. so the brain identifies it and give the signal to do the same activities and this turn into routine...
Now,comes the reward your brain got the fresh taste of mint and that also refreshes your mouth and the loop turn in habit. The loop here is not limited to one thing but if you observe yourself for a week you will have the appropriate data off all your cues,routines,rewards ..

Habit Transmutation ;

Next , after identifying the habitual activities that are cues and rewards what next thing came is the Transmutation . So if you want to change your negative habits you need to find the cues then the rewards and change the routine leaving cue and reward same ...that is of you want to change your habit of having snacks at evening ,get your cues and go for walk or call a friend and do something which is not habitual to you and you will get the habit break.

How to develop new habit;

It's so simple attached cues and rewards with the routine you want to devlop ,like change your shoe position and go for walk the next time you saw them in the morning and your mind will eventually get used to it ,but there is one Important thing to devlop long lasting habit . To devlop that you should allow some time to mind to start craving for such activities and after your endocrine start craving for the action give it and enjoy the pleasure you will get new long lasting habit .
Remember, your habits decides your character and character gives direction to destiny, it depends on you to waste your time sitting on sofa and watching Netflix or go outside and work hard and get the real chill not the short term dopamine chill.
